April Quick Page

"Luke" by Ellie Lash.

Monday, April 14, 2008

I got it done.

Rules were: use template provided, use exactly ten elements (one glitter), use at least one of the colors pink, purple or green, and NO flowers.

I turned the picture black and white to make his sad, blue eyes POP. I wish they were as bright as the bluebonnets. Oh well.

Me gusta.

I WON!!!!!

I won last week's template challenge over at scrapmatters!!! Wa-hoOOO!!! Ok, so truth be told, they had seven winners last week because they were doing an April Fool's themed challenge. So, there was one random drawing winner and six layouts chosen by six different designers as their personal favorite. Everyone got a $5 gift card to the store, so it doesn't really matter HOW you won.... yup... I was the random drawing winner, not a favorite layout winner. Oh well. I like my layouts (well, for the most part) and that's what matters most!!! And I'm SOO happy with my final selection from the store. I'm loving Ellie Lash's designs, she leans more toward boy papers and elements so, you know why I love her work. I really wanted "Adam" so I used my gift card on that. Then, when I saw this month's quick page exchange is using "Luke" which makes it 30% off, I checked the forum to see what quick pages people are doing and -- !!!!!!-- then I really couldn't resist getting all those great layouts for free. So, I went ahead and splurged ($3!). Here's the preview of both:

Hopefully this week I'll get some pages done with both. Looking through them after I downloaded them, I am so in love!! She really is a great designer!!!

AND-- I'm also trying to quickly finish up this week's challenge. It's a cute template. Deadline is tonight at midnight. Hopefully I'll get the boys to bed in time to have an hour or two to play. We'll see.

Tuesday Challenge

I have a goal to someday win the Tuesday Challenge at scrapmatters. Maybe someday soon I'll do something creative enough to win the big prize -- a $5 gift certificate to their store. Which, if you've looked around you know, will buy a good sized kit.

This week's challenge was just a free template. No other rules. So, here's mine. While I was checking out my competition, I found the "About a Boy" kit, so that's what I used. Nothing too spectacular, but I'm pleased. And I'm the one who matters, right? :P
